On Wednesday, April 12, the Global Taiwan Institute hosted a public seminar that covered trends in Taiwan’s security environment and defense policy. The event featured analysis from noted experts Ian Easton (Project 2049), Michael Mazza (AEI), Amy Chang (Harvard) and Eric Gomez (Cato), and was followed by a lively discussion, moderated by GTI Senior Fellow David An. Our panelists discussed the Quadrennial Defense Review, talk of increased defense spending, new weapons programs, and the growing capabilities of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), among many other topics.
