Sept 28: 22 Years of the Taiwan Policy Review

 On Wednesday, September 28, 2016 from 12:00 PM1:00 PM, please join the Global Taiwan Institute for a public seminar commemorating the 22nd anniversary of the 1994 Taiwan Policy Review, as we host a panel of experts to discuss critical issues in the U.S.-Taiwan relationship, and how they have been affected by the framework set out in the Review. A light lunch will be served.

Panelists

Richard C. Bush III is Director of the Center for East Asian Policy Studies (CEAP) at the Brookings Institution, where he also holds the Chen-Fu and Cecilia Yen Koo Chair in Taiwan Studies and is a senior fellow at the John L. Thornton China Center. He was previously chairman and managing director of the American Institute in Taiwan.

David Keegan is the Course Chair for China Area Studies at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI), U.S. Department of State, and was formerly the Deputy Director of the American Institute in Taiwan, Taipei Office and Director of the Taiwan Coordination Staff, U.S. Department of State.

Walter Lohman is the Director of the Asian Studies Center at the Heritage Foundation, where he is also the leading voice on U.S.-Taiwan relations. He is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, and served in the U.S. Senate under Senators John McCain and Jesse Helms.
