David Dichoso

David Dichoso is a 2025 Fall Intern at the Global Taiwan Institute. He is an M.A. candidate in Asian Studies at the Elliott School of International Affairs at George Washington University. He previously served as a U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery officer with a forward-deployed Patriot missile battalion in Okinawa, Japan, supporting regional deterrence operations and conducting joint exercises alongside the Japan Self-Defense Forces. Following his military service, he worked as a Diplomatic Assistant at the Embassy of Japan in Washington, D.C., where he strengthened U.S.–Japan diplomatic ties through coordinating official engagements, translating official documents, and drafting speeches for the Minister of Chancery. David was later selected for the Formosan Association for Public Affairs Emerging Leaders Delegation to Taiwan, where he engaged with leaders in civil society, business, and government. He currently serves as Vice President of the Organization of Asian Studies, the Elliott School’s student-run think tank and holds a B.A. in Global Affairs with a minor in Japanese from George Mason University.
