Daniela Martinez is a Fall 2023 intern at the Global Taiwan Institute. She is a fourth-year student at George Mason University’s Honors College studying Chinese and Global Affairs with a concentration in Global Governance. Daniela has previously held research positions with the US State Department, George Mason’s Schar School of Government and Policy, and fp21. She has mapped China’s military and economic activity, and researched Cross-Strait Relations and evidence-based methods of conducting foreign policy. Daniela is Honduran-American, with experience abroad at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, Spain studying Spanish. She has also spent time in Chengdu, China and Kaohsiung, Taiwan through several State Department and TECRO-funded scholarships studying Mandarin.
