Kai-Chieh Hsu

Kaichieh KJ Hsu is a visiting fellow at the Global Taiwan Institute and New York University, specializing in IP law, patent strategy, judicial reform (including the death penalty and case management), and international law. His current research focuses on the legal basis under international law for countries assisting Taiwan during cross-strait crises. Previously a judge and now a Ph.D. candidate at National Taiwan University, his professional and academic background has cultivated expertise in industrial policies. He is also focusing on the critical role of Taiwan’s semiconductor industry as a “Silicon Shield” in the global semiconductor supply chain. He holds a bachelor degree in law and dual master’s degrees in Laws and Business Administration from National Taiwan University.
