Clare McKendry is a second-year PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Specializing in International Relations and East Asian security, territorial and maritime disputes, her PhD dissertation research examines how Taiwan defines and defends its interests and claims in the South China Sea.
