Josh’s best-selling 2021 book: Chaos Under Heaven: Trump, Xi, and the Battle for the 21st Century (Mariner Books), is regarded the most deeply reported accounts of the US-China relationship during the first Trump administration. It revealed new insights on the intersection of the national security world and the business, tech, trade and capital market sectors. In his book and columns, Josh has chronicled the growing intersection of the national security and business worlds, tracking both the tensions and opportunities created by China’s rise and the U.S.-led international response. Previously, Josh has covered foreign policy and national security for Bloomberg View, Newsweek, The Daily Beast, Foreign Policy magazine, Congressional Quarterly, Federal Computer Week magazine, and Japan’s Asahi Shimbun. Josh has been recognized with the Interaction Award for Excellence in International Reporting and as a Finalist for the Livingston Award for Young Journalists. Josh holds a BA in international affairs from the George Washington University and studied at Sophia University in Tokyo, Japan.
