Sze-Fung Lee

Sze-Fung Lee is an independent analyst specializing in Chinese hybrid warfare as an integrated cross-domain system. Lee’s work focuses on Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (FIMI), gray-zone operations, and cognitive warfare — translating research findings into actionable policy insights, operational playbooks, and strategic communications products to support policymakers and democratic institutions in countering hybrid threats.

Lee’s analysis has been published by leading think tanks and policy outlets, including the Jamestown Foundation, Australian Strategic Policy Institute, Atlantic Council, Global Taiwan Institute, and the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, as well as The Diplomat and Japan Times, and cited by major international media, such as The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, and Central News Agency (CNA).

Lee is a former analyst at the Center for International Digital Policy, Global Affairs Canada, and a member of the Pacific Forum Young Leaders Program. Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese, Lee applies OSINT methodologies to analyze primary sources across Western and Chinese-language platforms.
