Alexei Hoffman is a defense analyst in Washington, DC, focused on military air power and unmanned-systems policy. A US Army veteran, he served as a Forward Observer in Afghanistan and has since conducted defense training advisory work in Ukraine. He holds an MA in Asian Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and an MA in Military Affairs from The Citadel Military College of South Carolina. His work on Asia security policy topics has appeared in numerous outlets, including War on the Rocks, the U.S. Army’s Military Review, and Marine Corps University Press.
