Emerson Tsui is a China and Indo-Pacific security analyst based in Washington, D.C. His research focuses on political and security affairs related to Taiwan and the People’s Republic of China (PRC). His work has been cited in U.S. congressional testimony and translated into Japanese by the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and cited by defense practitioners in the United States and Japan, including researchers from Japan’s Ministry of Defense-affiliated National Institute for Defense Studies (防衛研究所), the Brookings Institution, and Asia Society Policy Institute. His Taiwan-focused research has been accepted for presentation at both the American Political Science Association (APSA) 2026 Annual Meeting and the inaugural Marine Corps University–Defense Intelligence Agency New Domains of Warfare Conference.
